To Whom It May Concern

I am writing this letter as I would like congratulate Adam and Heidi Hewison of Adam’s Catering on being nominated for this year’s Midwest Business Excellence Awards. As a small business owner myself I see these two outstanding business people as a perfect example of what the Business Excellence Awards represent. Nothing is too much of a hassle for them with them both going out of their ways to accommodate your needs.

Last year my cousin, who is a single mother, was diagnosed with breast cancer. A group of ladies including myself, Ros Worthington, Karen Godfrey, Chris Dobson and Caroline Pettet decided to organize a gala dinner called “Charity Begins At Home” to raise funds with all proceeds going directly to my cousin. This was our way of helping her fight her tough battle by relieving the financial stress she would face by having to give up her job. We approached Heidi first just to obtain a quote for the food for our event, bear in mind we only had five weeks to organize it. Heidi blew us all away by her professionalism. Not only did she have the quote to us by the time we needed it but she also started to help us fundraise. She started to walk the streets and approach businesses for donations with many wonderful things coming our way. Heidi didn’t only stop there, she sourced all the linen for us for the tables and chairs by ordering them directly from the manufacturer overseas which in turn saved us so much money.

Given we didn’t have a lot of time to organize this event we were finding it hard to sell some of the tickets up until the last few days as we didn’t have as much advertising as we would have liked. Most caterers make you give them a final head count 48 hours before the night but Adam and Heidi’s generosity shone through with them allowing us to give them the final head count only a few hours before the fundraiser began. Within the final 48 hours we sold an extra 50 tickets, nearly a third of our 170 people who attended.
I cannot praise Adam and Heidi enough for their professionalism and customer service. It well and truly exceeded all of our expectations and we are very lucky to have secured them for our event again this year which will host up to 400 people. We will be raising funds for 3 local people, a man, woman and child who are going through the tough battle with cancer at the moment. We hope to increase the amount we raised of $38,600 to an impressive $100,000 and Adam and Heidi and their staff are an integral part of this.
Once again from all of the ladies on our committee we would like to wish Adam and Heidi all the best for their nomination, which we believe is well and truly deserved.

Kind Regards
